World ARC 2017/18 - Check-in World Cruising Club
In Saint Lucia, it was a busy day as the World ARC 2017-18 office in Rodney Bay Marina, opened its doors today to begin checking in and registering the boats and crews of the next Rally. One of the first crews to check in this morning were Ros and Howard Cheetham, a couple from United States who will be sailing around the world together with help from friends.
They decide to sail around the world with their Nautitech 442 to meet new people and visit new places, they lived in South Africa for a while and they plan to get back there sailing across Pacific and Indian Ocean.
Following the check in procedure the six World Cruising Club staff members in Rodney Bay will continue to help get the yachts ready for the first leg of the Rally which begins on Saturday 07 January. A Yellowbrick Iridium tracking device will be fitted to each yacht and a safety officer will conduct an equipment inspection of the boat.
Already outside the Rally office there is a buzz of activity as crews introduce themselves to one another and share thoughts about Rally preparations and experiences.
