Bluewater Cruising Association at the Vancouver Boat Show! Agathe Gaulin and Georgette Duhaime
Free Spirit spent a very exciting week at this year’s Vancouver Boat Show, as the Bluewater Cruising Association’s offshore ready boat! January 17, 2017 saw Free Spirit slide into her slip on Granville Island to begin her week of “showing off” her stuff to the many visitors walking the docks during the Boat Show. Tuesday, before the opening day of the show, she was swept, washed, polished and made ready for the show!

She was now ready to welcome the numerous visitors and also at the ready were the many BCA volunteers who greeted, answered questions and chatted with everyone who stepped on board. Approximately 150 people admired Free Spirit‘s lines, her wood, the equipment, as well as the “walk in” engine room.

A Little About Free Spirit

She was built in 1973 by Spencer Boats Ltd., in Richmond. Free Spirit is a 44? Spencer center cockpit with full cutaway forefoot keel and keel hung rudder. She sports her original Isuzu 55 HP engine. Very well equipped as an offshore boat! Free Spirit has sailed to many parts of the world, competed in the 1995 Darwin to Ambon race and winning her division. Agathe and Georgette are preparing her for her next offshore adventure.
