2017 ARC Portugal - Fleet arrive in Falmouth

by World Cruising on 7 Jun 2017
2017 ARC Portugal - Falmouth Marina World Cruising Club
All yachts reported a good day’s sailing, having set off yesterday at around 0900 local time from Mayflower Marina the fleet began to arrive in to Falmouth from 15:00 and those who decided not to use their engines arrived late in to the night with the last yacht arriving at around 22:30. The fleet are now based in Pendennis Marina, nestled right in the heart of the bustling fishing town of Falmouth. The town is really alive despite the wind and rain.

The unusual low pressure systems that have generated the high winds currently blowing through the UK may have delayed Rally Portugal's departure to Spain, but they certainly haven't stopped the fun ashore! Tonight the Rally will enjoy a fish and chips dinner at the Harbour Lights restaurant and will then continue on to the pub downstairs for some Breton dancing and well deserved beers!

The last of the twenty boats Oysterama joined the fleet in Falmouth after being unable to make their early departure to Bayona. The weather is being closely monitored ……… keep an eye on the news stories and ARC Portugal Facebook page for any updates.
