Doyle Sails will be well represented at the upcoming ANZ Sail Fiji Race, with half of the 20 entries bearing full or partial Doyle inventories and four members of the Doyle team taking part.

Last raced in 2010, the 20 boats that have signed up to take part in the 2014 edition will depart Auckland for Denerau Marina in Fiji on the seventh of June.

'We are really looking forward to the race to Fiji this year,' says Doyle's Andy Pilcher. 'Entry numbers are up on recent years, which is a great sign, and the calibre of entries is excellent, with a number of 'races within a race' brewing.

The battle for line honours will be keenly fought between Beau Geste and Giacomo and behind them will be a fierce battle between the 50’ fleet, featuring Vamos, V5, Wired, Kia Kaha and Akatea. Then there is bound to be a close battle between the Beneteau’s: Surreal, Notorious and Outrageous Fortune.

:

Even two of the smallest boats in the fleet will be working as hard as the can to earn bragging rights, with Django hoping to beat the Tauranga team on board Squealer, in order to win a generous pay-out of rum. All the ingredients are there for what could turn out to be a classic race. We can’t wait!'

Flying the flag for Doyle with full inventories are Django, with Andy Pilcher on board; Wired; and Surreal, with Phizzle from Doyle Northland on board.

Featuring partial inventories are Notorious; Beau Geste; Outrageous Fortune; Squealer; Steinlager 2; V5, with Justin Ferris on board; and Vamos, with Simon Kidd on board.

Doyles will be posting regular updates from the boats taking part in the race. Good luck to all boats and crew taking Click here to see Doyle Sails Facebook page
