NV Charts launches new compact atlas format for Bahamas Chart sets

NV Charts, a leading provider of charting products for navigation, announces the release of all chart sets, beginning with their popular Bahamas chart sets, in new Atlas style format. The new format applies to their newly updated chart sets for Region 9.1, Bahamas Northwest, including Bimini and Berry Islands, Nassau to Abaco, and Grand Bahama, for 2015/2016.

All of the NV Charts Bahamas sets will shortly be available in Atlas format, check website, for availability.

“Atlas format is handy, compact, and easy to use and manage,” states Hasko Scheidt, CEO. “The chart atlas is bound, but the binding is designed so that the chart set will open and lie flat for proper charting usage.” Scheidt adds that the Atlas format reduces the physical size of the paper chart set by half (but not the cartography itself) for ease of use on today’s smaller navigation stations and chart tables. “Since these charts are produced from our own cartographic databases, rather than simply copied from government sources, we have designed them so that no critical elements are in the crease, or fold, where they might lose definition over time from use and wear,” he adds.

The chart set includes a CD of digital charts, including free navigation software, plus the free nv charts Mobile App for iOS and Android mobile devices for real-time navigation. The App includes free digital updates for this chart set for 2015/2016. NV Charts are relied on for accuracy and dependability by recreational boaters, professional mariners, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Region 9.1, Bahamas Northwest, is designed for sailors, motor boaters, fishermen and professional mariners, and cruising enthusiasts. It includes the following:

• 7 Passage Charts
• 18 Coastal Charts
• Includes Harbor and Anchorage Pilot Book
• GPS Charted Waypoints and Approaches
• CD of digital Charts, including free Navigation Software
• Tide Tables and Recommended Courses

NV Charts produces charting products for the entire US East Coast from the Canadian border to the Florida Keys, as well as comprehensive charts of the Caribbean including Cuba. NV Charts offers approximately 4,000 charts and more than 2,000 details and harbor plans. These charts are designed with the prudent mariner in mind; coasts and anchorages are regularly updated through new surveys and aerials.

NV Charts are available in paper, digital format for use on PCs, on SD memory cards for chartplotters, and for use with NV Charts’ free App for navigation with all iOS and Android mobile devices. NV Charts in all available formats can be easily purchased online.
