Sydney-siders, if you missed the Cruising Yacht Club's recent book event for Sail-World's Nancy Knudsen and her new book 'Shooting Stars and Flying Fish', there's another chance at Pittwater's delightful Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) on Friday.
There's also a Slow-roast Sirloin, Grilled Tasmanian Salmon and Caramelised Apple Rhubarb Crumble for only $22 a head waiting for you, and 'Happy Hour' at the Edinburgh Bar from 6.00pm. Dinner starts from 7.00pm.
You'll be joining the RPAYC's cruising fraternity for their monthly 'First Friday' event while listening to Nancy's presentation about what it was like to share a small boat with her architect husband Ted Nobbs for so many years, and describing the unimaginable life-transforming outcome of their journey.
It's appropriate that Nancy talk about their adventures at the RPAYC, as it was from here that Nancy and her husband Ted Nobbs set out for their circumnavigation in 2003, and finished their world journey five years later at the same dock.
She'll be introducing her new book Shooting Stars and Flying Fish published by Allen & Unwin at the event, and $10 from every book sale will go to 'Sailability', while attendees will receive the discounted price of $25.
At the end of the evening you can go away with a good book to read by the fire and keep away the winter chills. It's received great reviews so far, so please book by Wednesday 1st June, by http://www.rpayc.com.au/first-friday-form!clicking_here.
If you would like to purchase the book and support 'Sailability' but can't attend on Friday (3rd June), you can pre-order it on the same booking form on the Club's website in the 'comment' section, and will be available from Reception from Sat morning 4th June.
