Anchoring restrictions around La Paz

Anchoring restrictions around La Paz CCO – Public Domain
If you are currently cruising in the Sea of Cortez, you may be interested in this news topic.

BCA member Carolyn Dailey from Shannon’s Spirit, who is currently sailing in the Sea of Cortez sent in this link that outlines some of the anchoring restrictions around La Paz. These restrictions are not new, and the information has been around for a couple years, but seems to have missed the info loop for many cruisers in the area.

For example, Carolyn indicates that some people are still anchoring in Caleta Lobos (it is a sweet anchorage), but they risk being run out at anytime and in any weather by the Mexican Navy. We hope this information will be of help and contribute somehow to the protection of the coral and mangroves in sensitive areas around La Paz.

The Book of Prudence
When it comes to ideas, the Book of Genesis is often very hard to find on the shelf. When it comes to ideas, the Book of Genesis is often very hard to find on the shelf. At any rate, it is probably much more like a small A5 leaflet anyway, so looking for a flyer in a library of books is tantamount to the proverbial needle in a haystack. Whereas the Book of Prudence is far more like a Tolstoy-esque behemoth of many volumes – even the entire back catalogue of Jane’s Fighting Ships!

Playing rugby again
On Crystal Blues our job list has a very bad habit of growing, not shrinking whilst we are on the hard stand. Rugby, to the uninitiated, is the game that you have to throw the ball backwards to move forwards...well that is what it feels like we are doing this month. At least now, after our seven week break back in Melbourne, the weather in Trinidad is a little cooler and drier to work in.
