If you apply a similar rule to their shoe collections they soon catch on. I enforced a strict one pair in, one pair out rule for a while and then suddenly my wife stopped bothering me about my collection of photographic equipment.

Yes, yes, completely agree. Once upon a time I believed the sole purpose of dinghy ownership and sailing was racing.... but kids and age mellow you and a little cruise to a beach for a picnic or up the harbour for an ice-cream is a joy, esp when towing kayaks and doing a bit of makerel spinning off the back!

rupert, surely the quote about number of bikes applies to you with boats!  anyway isnt one of the joys of forum threads is the way they go off on a tangent. to get back on track. things i like about sailing dinghies; the people, the clubs, the boats, all raceing( handicap and class) in fact i love EVERYTHING about sailing dinghies.  |

It wasn't a complaint! I love reading about all these hitec bikes, especially as my bike is a 2ndhand lady's "mountain" bike... As I household we own more pairs of shoes than boats, I think. |

Neal, No thanks mate. We already have a Graduate which i really enjoy sailing with her. It performs pretty well on our local river where a Miracle would struggle. To be honest so would she, We are only just getting used to her pulling the Jib sheet. My little girl is 8 this year but only in 6 yr clothing poor little thing.

as i live in household with two women,i can say with out a shadow of a doubt, that there are more shoes in the house, than the total of boats and bikes that we all own as a family!
