Mozzy the latest zhik is by far the most comfortable harness ive ever used over the last 25+ years of trapeze sailing, compared to the previous version it doesnt hold water either.

Are the standards as yet defined and agreed as to that which a quick release harness must meet to comply?

2023 then?
A little over three years to spread the cost of a new Shock over; seems a worthwhile price to pay rather than getting something which doesn't comply come the time or even ever be needed like the last time this idea was mooted.

I got shock one. Crew had one already and has been happy with it. It's a better fit than the banks one and stiffer less stretchy material.

I've got three years use out of it... and in that time I can lobby my class to delete 43.1c) in our class rules.

Nice one, I don't suppose you got the adjustable version. I was thinking about one for summer to winter sailing, sometimes up here a drysuit is the more attractive option for a quick blast early season.

Na, standard. I did think about the adjustable one. But just wanted the no frills option.

The medium fits over my winter steamer fine. Compared to the banks small I had the leg and bum fitting is about the same, however, the hook on the banks one did sit a long way from my body when pulled out trapezing. Not sure if this was just because it was old and had got stretchy. The down side of that is you have less trapeze height adjustment for a give reach to the handle.

The Shock seems to have a slightly lower hook also. This might be stretching of the banks also, but it should allow the upper body a bit more twisting movement when on the wire.

Ta for that, I am also inclined towards no frills but just wondered if you might have a "user review" on the alternative adjustable version , I guess Shock is nearly local for you.
My well used Bethwaite with kevlar arse refuses to give up so only speculation at the moment.

Hey People.  If we all refuse to comply, what will they do?  I really doubt most people are going to go around checking the ISO compliance of all the competitors harnesses.  I suppose if you are sadly desperate to win and will seek any way to do so, getting a few people DSQd for having a perfectly good safe harness that doesn't meet the requirements might do the trick!
