I get so wrapped up in sailing the F16 that I sometimes forget how many laps I’ve done – to the point of doing an extra lap (when leading) the first race at last years F16 Nats.  Does anyone have proven methods for recording how many laps you have done?  I’m thinking of sticking some Velcro numbers on the boom that I can flip down on each lap.

We used to stick the appropriate number of bits of tape on the hull.

Tear one off each lap. (dont chuck it over the side, move it to another part
of the hull).

Talking of lap nonsense gotta share this beauty from last season.

At a handicap open, I am leading a faster boat at the completion of the first lap of two.  I cross the line and continue, he gets finished.  Guess what happens next?  Thats right the wind drops and he comes second for that race.  

Handicap racing you can't beat it, no really!
I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

There we were at the FD Worlds in Spain, doing some tuning on the beach at the end of the day. A photographer comes up and asks if one of us can take a 17 yr old model out so he can take pics for front cover of equivalent of Devon Life.

Who needs a pole when you have a shroud!! She was very supple!! Anyway, to cut a long story short, on the last reach toward the photographer, Fred, sailing barefoot, slips [I think he went blind] and crashes into the pontoon. Very expensive.

Names have been changed to protect the guilty.
