The dust has still to settle on the 2016 GP14 Super 6 Series with the Midland Areas still to come (01 and 02 October) but we are already busy planning next year's series.

The Super 8 kicks off at the End of Seasons on 15 and 16 October at Royal Windermere Yacht Club. As well as featuring the Super 6 prize giving this event will be rammed full of fun and freebies as we send 2016 off in style.

There were 27 entries to last year's end of seasons which was won by Ian Dobson and Andy Tunnicliffe but last time the fleet visited Windermere 42 boats took part.

The event is known for its black tie dinner, giving everyone a chance to swap neoprene for dinner jackets, ball gowns and high heels. Entry is cheap at only £50 per boat which includes a meal on the Saturday for both helm and crew with wine and a disco.

There are discounts for youths with an all youth boat getting 50% off and youth helm 25% off. There will also be cruising if there is enough interest and vintage boats are welcome to come and join in racing with a separate start five minutes after the main fleet.

Registration is from 10am on Saturday 15 October 2016 with a briefing at 12pm from the Club House balcony. There will be four races over the two days with one discard if all four races are sailed.

The first gun on Saturday will be 12.55pm with two races back to back and on the Sunday the first gun will be 10.55am for another two races. The prize giving for the 2016 Super 6 Series will follow the event prize giving.

You can find out more about the Super 8 Series on the GP14 website at www.gp14.org/super8
