Operation Milagro V has launched! Due to the critical state of the vaquita, Sea Shepherd has started the campaign a few months early to give the vaquita the best chance at survival.

Since the beginning of Operation Milagro, Sea Shepherd has removed over 800 nets. This has cost the poachers an estimated $857,779 USD just in lost fishing gear. Sea Shepherd has also saved over 3,000 animals, including other endangered and protected marine wildlife.

During Operation Milagro IV, Sea Shepherd removed more fishing gear than all previous years combined, thanks to the addition of the M/V Sharpie. For Milagro V, we will be adding a new ship ideal for net recovery as it has larger deck space for nets, marine debris, anchors, and a stable platform for our volunteers.
