Aussie Skiffs 13 & 16 Footers National Championships at Darling Point Sailing Squadron - Day 5

by Mitchell Pearson 4 Jan 2019 11:56 UTC

Race six on day five of the 13 & 16 Foot National Championships was played out in 10 to 12 knots of wind on Waterloo Bay. The start for the 16's brought close to 16 knots and spits of rain but returned to the regular afternoon winds currently being experienced on the bay from then on.

At the start of the day three teams were separated by single digit points at the top of the 16's; Koreman Composites, Manly Surf n Slide and Starr Facility Services. Meanwhile Bartley Constructions held a ten point advantage over Esprit Electrical in the 13's.

By the end of the day Manly Surf n Slide had regained its lead with a commanding performance leading from start to finish. The same was said of Bartley Constructions with a similar result.

Saturday sees the final race in both classes with all still to play for.
