World ARC Rally leaves St Helena for Salvador

It's time to go. Some of the nineteen yachts headed north-west to take in Ascension Island while others sailed direct to Salvador. Two yachts left the rally and returned to the UK © Vince Thompson / St Helena Independent

On Saturday (26th January) the World ARC Rally continued towards Brazil after a weeklong stop at St Helena. The 2017-18 rally made the first official at St Helena although the Island has been an optional 72 hour stopover on nine previous occasions.
