In light of the weather forecast for Saturday it is clear that conditions will be unsuitable for racing small boats (at least) and we have therefore taken the decision to abandon racing for all White Group classes on Saturday.
In addition, with the very strong winds, it may not be easy for smaller boats to get to Cowes ready for early starts on Sunday. With that in mind we will be postponing all of the Sunday White Group starts by two hours from the previously published schedule, in order to give White Group competitors extra time to reach the start line.
We will review the weather forecast again tomorrow morning and will announce a decision about Black Group racing for Saturday at 10am on Thursday 8th August. Whilst the average winds may be within sailing range, particularly for the biggest boats, the current forecast includes extremely strong gusts which need to be considered. We would like to get you racing if we can.
