New Hamble River office for Hyde Sails

For over 50 years Hyde Sails have been delivering high quality sails and backing this up with exceptional service. The UK team now have a brand-new office, right on the bank of the River Hamble, where you can meet the designers and even pull up alongside in your yacht to get your rig measured or drop off sails for a service.

In this day and age, where nearly everything is internet based, Hyde Sails Managing Director Nigel Grogan hasn't forgotten the ethos which the brand is built on and sees this move as pivotal to continuing the success which the sailmaker has enjoyed recently.

"This new office is utterly key for me," explained Nigel, "The Hamble River sees a huge number of boats, ranging from Optimists to large cruising and racing yachts. Our new location gives us visibility to this market, but more importantly lets our customers come and talk to our team to discuss their requirements."

Sails on a yacht are a moving part and inevitably wear and tear happens. Getting sails back to your sailmaker for a repair or service can be frustrating, but with the new office Hyde Sails provide a drop-in service. Yachts can moor up on the dock straight outside, deposit the sail, and then motor back to their mooring. Gone is the ordeal of lugging the sail along pontoons, cramming it into a car, and then taking it to the loft.

"Our aim is to making sailing as convenient as possible for sailors. Time is a precious commodity and anything we can do to maximise time on the water for Hyde Sails customers should be grasped with both hands in my opinion," said Nigel.

Hyde Sails make around 40,000 sails per year using the latest construction techniques, ranging from one-design dinghies all the way to the sails which power the Clipper Round the World Race fleet during the 40,000-mile, 11-month race. The Hyde logo can regularly be seen at the front of racing fleets and the design team are constantly honing their designs, pushing forwards what can be achieved on the water.

Hyde make sails for large boat builders such as RS and Laser and aim to use the best materials available, with high attention to detail, all at a competitive price. Hyde won't promise you the cheapest sails, but you will receive the best quality, design and service out there.

Feel free to drop into their new office at The Slipway, Hamble Point Marina or contact the team via www.hydesails.co.uk/contact.html to discuss your next sails and begin your relationship with Hyde Sails.
