Cruising yachts will not be permitted to anchor for more than 24 hours outside the Marina Las Palmas from the 15th March until the 15th September.
According to the official new rules from the Port Authority of Las Palmas, it is forbidden to anchor at the entrance of Marina Las Palmas in front of Las Alcaravaneras Beach:
"It is forbidden to anchor at the entrance of Las Palmas's Marina in between the 15th of March and the 15th of September for more than 24 hours" every year.
This is apparently to enable a variety of water sports in the harbour through the summer months.
Our thanks to Karen Goodhew for reporting the news and Agustin Martin, OCC POR Gran Canaria for confirming the official notice.
