Every two years, hundreds of sailors gear up for the 635-mile Newport Bermuda Race, the oldest scheduled ocean race of its kind. Beginning in 1906, it is one of the most prestigious international distance races and one of the two races who course is completely out of sight of land.

This race attracts sailors from all across North America and the world. In 2018 there was a total of 170 boats entered across the different divisions. In 2016, over 23 countries were represented and 55 of the boats entered had at least one sailor from outside of the United States.

This year, the race was canceled because of the worldwide pandemic. To keep the Newport to Bermuda Race spirit alive, the race committee decided to move their focus to an online version of the ocean racing classic.

In partnership with SailOnline.org, this year the race will be the 2020 Online Newport Bermuda Race -- June 19, 2020! Online racing may not be for everyone, but we ask that crews, navigators, and skippers take on this challenge!

The race has been split into four divisions: Double-Handed, St. David's Lighthouse, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, and Finisterre. This online event will challenge your navigation for the Thrash to the Onion Patch.

Jeanneau America is excited to announce our very own raceboat, the Sun Fast 3300 will be raced in a virtual one-design in the double-handed division of the 2020 Online Newport Bermuda Race.

So what are you waiting for?! The time is NOW to sign up and take the helm of the Sun Fast 3300. Registration is free into any of the four divisions and prizes will be awarded for top finishers in each division.
