Marlow Ropes Sales Representative Declan Clamp secures new role at RigPro

by Sian Killean, Marlow 9 Oct 2020 07:00 UTC

Marlow Ropes Leisure Marine Team announce today that Sales Representative, Declan Clamp, will be moving onwards and upwards with a new role secured at RigPro, the service division of Halls Spars, Future Fibres and Southern Spars, as an Assistant Project Manager.

Declan has been at Marlow since 2018 and during this time has had great success, thanks to his knowledge and previous roles as a rigger. Keen to now return and advance his career in the world of rigging, Declan will be joining RigPro to support customers regarding mast & rigging solutions and service.

"My time at Marlow has hugely increased my knowledge of fibre running rigging in all its applications. Marlow has been pushing the boundaries bringing the first Recycled running rigging and mooring ropes to the market and it has been great to be a part of that. I have really enjoyed my time at Marlow and learnt a lot from the whole team. Marlow will be greatly missed."

At a turbulent time for many businesses around the world, Marlow's Management Team are pleased to see both current and former employees continuing to make their mark, and are committed to supporting and nurturing employees with their career development. Managing Director Jon Mitchell comments: "A business is only as good as the people you employ, and for us at Marlow, training and skills of employees is all part of our commitment to being a responsible employer. We continue to invest in the development of our employees at all levels and this includes professional qualifications and apprenticeship schemes across areas including accounting, engineering and marketing."

Leisure Marine Director Paul Honess comments: "Declan has been very popular with our UK customers and has played a key part in the success of Marlow's Leisure Marine business over the last two years. We wish him the best of luck with his new venture and look forward to keeping in touch and seeing how his career develops."

Established over 200 years ago, Marlow Ropes has become one of the leading rope manufacturers within the global Leisure Marine industry and is known for innovation and technical expertise. Understanding the yachting industry and the needs of sailors and riggers from high performance racing through to the everyday cruiser/racer is a crucial part of Marlow's ability to offer innovative products and expert service. This is all thanks to the diverse skillset of its employees; from the technically proficient production team, to the artisan splicers and the sailing-savvy sales and customer service team.
