More than a dozen vessels have volunteered to assist with cyclone recovery efforts in Fiji. With so much conflict in the world, it is wonderful and refreshing to see cruisers come together to help.
Dear Sea Mercy friends and supporters,
Volunteer vessels of Sea Mercy's Second Response Team sailed from Port Denarau Marina early this morning (17/02/21) to follow up on the work done by our first team over Christmas and into the New Year. Not only are they carrying additional donated aid supplies, but they will also be conducting assessments to provide vital information in support of both Government and Non-Government recovery initiatives.
Despite the challenges caused by two further cyclones hitting Fiji since TC Yasa, over a dozen volunteer vessels have now joined our Response Fleet. Meanwhile, s/v Olena, one of our First Response Vessels, has put together this video offering a glimpse into life as a Sea Mercy Disaster Response Volunteer.
