The presence of Australia's leading brands was once again very strong at the 2019 METSTRADE Show, recognised as the world's largest trade exhibition of marine equipment, materials and systems. Renowned for its representation of high quality and innovative Australian marine products, the Australian and Superyacht Pavilions at METS retained the most reputable companies in the industry promoting their superior skills and expertise.

Of these leading brands were two nominees for the 2019 Dame awards, CST Composites and AMI-TMQ International. AMI-TMQ International were recognised for their new EEL Emergency Escape Light which helps prevent loss of life at sea. The product is the first of its kind, it automatically activates upon detection of an abnormal roll angle and also illuminates when immersed in water. CST Composites nomination was for their Tow Pro Pack, the latest innovation for Moth masts, which offers two Bases and four Tips for different stiffness combinations. They make the ability to mix and match bases and tips possible giving sailors' complete control over their set up.

David Good, AIMEX CEO said, "This year we were delighted to host a visit to the Australian pavilion of the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Matthew Neuhaus. The ambassador certainly left the show very proud of the high-quality manufacturing and Australian innovation he observed. Being the ambassador to such a proud shipbuilding country as the Netherlands, this is an important industry that brings our two countries closer."

"METS is certainly the most important trade show we attend, this year again confirmed this. Australian companies are innovative and enjoy an impeccable reputation in quality which is leveraged by bringing them together under one Australian Flag," continued David.

The highly anticipated Australian Outback Party returned again at the Australian Outback Café adjacent to the Australian Pavilion on the second night of the show. Key industry stake holders were invited to network with the Australian marine export industry as they enjoyed Australian Penfolds wine and snacks. The outback party proved to be an outstanding platform to connect with all aspects of industry with an impressive turn out of attendees.

Within the Australian Pavilion, the Gold Coast City Council were successful in showcasing the industries capabilities from the Gold Coast Marine Precinct. Exhibitors on this stand were Barz Optics, Volare Sports, Marine Tuft Carpets and Superior Jetties. Also exhibiting in the Australian Pavilion were Greencorp Marine, SOS Marine, CST Composites, Rainman, AMI-TMQ International, Ronstan, Coursemaster, Hydrive, Polyflex, Bellingham Marine, GME and Marine Kleen. Next door in the Superyacht Pavilion were VEEM, Muir Engineering and Analu.

The scope of expertise of the Australian marine industry was available to all pavilion visitors at METS through the 2020 Australian Marine Industry Magazine. The magazine is designed to give a comprehensive guide to all products and services currently available down under. The aim of launching the magazine at the largest marine equipment tradeshow is to help portray to Europe what Australia has to offer.

METSTRADE 2019 attracted a record number of exhibitors to the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam, proving that it is the number one show to attend for players within the marine industry. An impressive 26,984 visits were registered, a 5% increase from 2018, demonstrating that the show continues to rise in popularity with each edition.
