The first of the 2023 Senior Traveller events took place on Tuesday 25th April at Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club. This was a day when toe straps were not needed. The wind was erratic in direction and strength with periods of complete calm.

Nevertheless 20 boats took to the water to play the game of spot the next puff of wind and try to get in a position to receive it! Despite this meaning there was an element luck involved some sailors were able to pick there way through from gust to gust with remarkable consistency.

Ian Jones in his Laser was foremost of these and clocked up 2 firsts to take the event on the day. Richard Catchpole and Andy Carter in Solos made up the top 3.

1st Grand Master was Dave Woodhead in another Solo.

The next event will be at Burwain Sailing Club on the Tuesday the 16th May. First Race at 11am.
