Great success and great enthusiasm for the first EUROSAF eSailing European Championship organized by EUROSAF in collaboration with the Italian Sailing Federation, Sombrero Sport and Virtual Regatta.

4200 competitors who, after four very tough selections, saw the top 20 European players reach the final.

Men's final stage

The great favorite, the English Arthur Farley, ran into a bad evening and loses the challenge against the French Tristan Peron who with great consistency after 10 races detaches his direct opponent by 10 points. "It was a good European championship, I really appreciated the formula with 10 races with no discard, which allowed me to see who really was the most consistent player. I really appreciated the introduction of limitations on penalties at the start", the new European Champion said.

The podium was completed by another French player TRAP-Pichnet, followed by the Italians Amos Di Benedetto, Stefano Bonatti and Mario Prodigo.

Women's final stage

Natalia Pryba is the first female eSailing European Champion. After a great battle also in the women's classification against Italy's Lucia Zane (Habibro) of Circolo della Vela Mestre saw her victory slipping away in the last race due to a disconnection. The Polish Natalia Pryba (Aquila Antilia) took advantage of this with great merit. Thanks to the consistency of results she overtook Lucia Zane by one point and becomes the first European Women's eSailing Champion.

Yesterday, the prize-giving of the overall winner took place during the Ocean Race finals in Genoa. The medal was given by EUROSAF Vice-President Marco Predieri (photo).
