Suzuki, Rigiflex and Extreme Trailers once again joined forces to provide a club safety boat package as a prize for the 'Community Club' category of the RYA Cub of the Year awards, which were presented at the recent RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show.

Gresford SC was named RYA Community Club of the Year, which celebrates those who provide meaningful, welcoming and inclusive opportunities, with Gresford SC one of four finalists for the title from a total of 14 exceptional clubs shortlisted for the 2024 awards.

Thanks to sponsorship from Suzuki, Rigiflex and Extreme Trailers, Gresford SC won the prize of a new safety boat to support its on-the-water activities.

The Rigiflex Newmatic 360 is one of the most popular club safety boats on the market and, when powered with the reliable, fuel-efficient and quiet Suzuki DF9.9, is a very durable and easy to handle craft. Combine this with the lightweight and fully galvanised roller trailer from Extreme, that is designed and manufactured in the UK, Gresford SC have earned themselves a very versatile package.

Chief instructor Simon Jones said: "We couldn't believe it when we were announced as the RYA Community Club of the Year! We were so excited and to win a new safety boat on top is fantastic, we will certainly make good use of it to support our junior sessions and training. It was really generous of the award sponsors and it will be a brilliant asset for the club."
