World ARC 2023-24 in the Caribbean!

by World Cruising Club 24 Mar 00:55 UTC

Having transited the Panama Canal, leaving the tranquil waters of the Caribbean Sea some 14 months ago, the World ARC 2023-24 fleet have returned to Grenada in style! The fleet arrived from 14th March into the very welcoming Port Louis Marina, Grenada and have been enjoying the rum punch and champagne sailing since!

For many of the fleet arrival in Port Louis Marina marked ‘crossing their line’ and thus completing a full circumnavigation – as you can imagine, there has been lots of celebrations! The prizegiving for Leg 16 took place on 20th March at the Victory Bar and was very well attended. Leg 16 marked the final competitive leg for this edition of the World ARC but the programme is far from over!

Over the past couple of days the fleet have been spreading North to Carriacou and are now entering Saint Vincent via Union Island. With the rest of the Grenadines ahead, we look forward to reconnecting with the fleet in Marigot Bay, Saint Lucia on 10th April where we will begin to prepare for the parade of sail North to Rodney Bay, completing the World ARC 2023-24 route!
